Hannah Ang

RN

Previously working in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, also known as the City of Golden Friendship, Hannah Ang is a firm believer in knowing the culture and connecting with the community you live in is important in adjusting and transitioning to a new place.

Hannah started her application with WorldWide HealthStaff Solutions in February 2022 and was given the chance to choose her future direct hire healthcare employer. Hannah was interviewed in March, started her application in April and came to America in November of the same year.
"My immigration journey was systematic and straightforward. They will guide you through the process and provide information. The process is also super straightforward unlike other agencies that I tried to apply to years ago. My Case Manager was really responsive and helpful too."

Hannah now works in Davenport, Iowa. Although initially scared and anxious about moving forward with her journey to the US, she was happy to meet and connect with her fellow Filipinos. She has also created local connections and friendships in Davenport. She is surprised by finding out that her area has a lot of Asian groceries/stores which is located in the Midwest.
In her two weeks of orientation, Hannah said, "My preceptors, RN educators, and also my managers were super nice and awesome. They really check on me from time to time to see how I am doing at work or if I have concerns. My preceptors were also amazing as they were patient with me as I am learning and understanding the work culture and flow process in ED."
To Hannah, it is important to know your strengths and weaknesses. "Always be prepared for whatever may happen along the way. I remember someone said to me, “Luck/fortune favors the brave and prepared people.” Also be patient and pray, she added.

Hannah Ang's successful immigration journey with WWHSS demonstrates the importance of cultural awareness, community connection, and preparation in adjusting to a new place. Her positive attitude and support system helped her overcome her initial anxieties and navigate her new environment with ease.
